Common Reasons:

  • Your address, birth date or zip code is different than what we have on file
  • You live outside the boundaries of San Diego County
  • Your registration card is still being processed. New federal and state laws may require up to 10 days to validate and process your voter registration application
  • You have recently sent in a voter registration form, but the form may be missing significant information, such as your:
    • California Driver's License Number or
    • California Identification Number

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ONE OF THE IDENTIFICATION CARDS LISTED ABOVE, you are required to enter the last four digits of your social security number on the voter registration form so that your registration form can be accepted.

If you would like additional information regarding these requirements, please contact the California Secretary of State's office at (916) 657-2166 or Voter Registration Office (858) 565-5800.

If you believe you should be registered, or have questions on voter registration, you may email us at rovmail@sdcounty.ca.gov, or call The Secretary of State's office at (916) 657-2166 or San Diego County Registrar of Voters Office at (858) 565-5800.
