June 2, 2026, Gubernatorial Primary Election
Under the California Voter’s Choice Act, every active registered voter in San Diego County will receive a ballot in the mail.
Confirm you're registered to vote. If anything has changed, complete a new voter registration online.
Your Voting Options
1. Vote by Mail
All active registered voters will receive a ballot by mail the week of May 4.
You can fill out your ballot at home at your convenience. After voting:
- Sign and date your return envelope
- Seal your completed ballot inside
- Return your ballot in one of the following ways:
Mail It:
Return your ballot promptly through the U.S. Postal Service. Must be postmarked no later than Tuesday, June 2.
Drop It:
From Tuesday, May 5, until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, drop off your ballot at any of the Registrar’s official ballot drop boxes located throughout the county.
2. Vote In Person
If you prefer to visit a vote center, you can bring your mail ballot or vote on a Ballot Marking Device. You have several opportunities during the early voting period to cast your ballot:

Starting Saturday, May 23:
- Select vote centers will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Starting Saturday, May 30:
- All vote centers will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Election Day – Tuesday, June 2:
- All vote centers, official ballot drop boxes, and the Registrar’s office will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
