Voter Accessibility Advisory Committee

The mission of the Language Accessibility Advisory Committee (LAAC) is to advise and assist the County of San Diego Registrar of Voters (ROV) with the implementation of federal and state laws relating to access of the electoral process by voters with Limited-English Proficiency (LEP), ensuring all voters can understand the voting process.

Purpose

  • Advise and assist County elections officials with outreach programs and materials related to language accessibility.
  • Assist in the recruitment of bilingual election workers as needed to serve in communities with LEP populations.
  • Provide recommendations identifying and prioritizing activities, programs, and policies to ensure access to the official ballot and election materials.
  • Provide expertise in language accessibility challenges in respective communities.
